SOCIAL ASSISTANCE SYSTEM MODERNIZATION PROJECT PUBLIC EDUCATIN CAMPAIGN

In 2009-2011 within the Social Assistance System Modernization Project (the World Bank and the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy of Ukraine) ECO Press has implemented a comprehensive range of activities that included strategy development for Public Education Campaign , corporate identity development and production of print materials, Publication of monthly newsletter ‘Socialny Visnyk’ (Social Herald) and TV Programme ‘Social Compass’, as well as production of weekly TV and radio programmes; Production and placement of TV segments on the national and regional TV channels, Organization of the national media seminar in Kiev and more than 50 Press Club meetings and press tours in all regions of Ukraine. Implementation of media activities and media monitoring throughout Ukraine.

Preliminary evaluation of the performance and impact of the Project “Improvement of the Social Support System”, which was performed in September 2010 by the NGO “Kyiv Institute of Economy”, Kyiv School of Economics, and the research company JFK Ukraine, has confirmed that information campaign “had a significant positive influence on the rates of knowledge among the adult population, primarily among the potential recipients”. According to the researchers, in contrast to 2008 (before the launch of the campaign), when only 25% of the population was aware of the eligibility criteria to receive social assistance, in 2010 this rate increased to 60%. Results of media monitoring and analysis of the journalist questionnaires collected following the media events, have also confirmed the growth of awareness and interest of journalists towards the topics of social assistance, while the overall number of relevant publications has also increased.

PHILIP MORRIS UKRAINE GREENFIELD OPENING IN KHARKIV

Opening of the PMU factory in Kharkiv is a notable stage in the company’s history and another confirmation of seriousness of its investment plans in Ukraine.

THE BIGGEST INTERACTIVE COCA-COLA MUSEUM IN EUROPE OPENING

The biggest interactive Coca-Cola museum in Europe was opened in Velyka Dymerka, Brovary region, Kyiv oblast, the place where the enterprise ofCoca-Cola Beverages Ukraine is located.

The museum opening is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Coca-Cola in Ukraine.

The museum consists of several thematic zones and a cinema. Its uniqueness lies not only in the use of advanced presentation technologies, such as helio-display, which creates 3D project show; interactive lake with virtual fish, but also in the approach to exposition filling — along with the history and production of world-famous drink, a great part of it is dedicated to environmental protection, water resources and the necessity of responsible attitude to it. Water is an indispensable resource for community and eco-systems, and also the main ingredient in beverage products as well as an essential constituent of many production processes.

On the occasion of museum opening ECO Press Mass Communication Agency and  Kyiv press-club of the National Union of Journalists organized a field session named “Modern production and responsible attitude to natural resources” with the participation of Olexandr Nikitash, Director of Hydrogeological and Environmental Centre of SE “Ukrainian Geological Company”, Andriy Bublyk, Public Affairs and Communications Manager of Coca-Cola Beverages Ukraine and Vitalij Zavazhenko, Plant Manager of Coca-Cola Beverages Ukraine.

In the course of the meeting the state of water resources in Kyiv region, advanced technologies and environmental protection were discussed. Andriy Bublyk told about 20-year experience of Coca-Colain Ukraine and stressed the priorities for the future.

“20-year history of Coca-Cola in Ukraine demonstrates innovation in the production processes and new approaches to environmental protection. The company is focused on water stewardship, responsible attitude to packaging, rational use of energy and fighting climate change, because the health of the environment in which we live and work, depends on the health of our business”, — said Andriy Bublyk.

iLEARN PROJECT WILL HELP CHILDREN OF THE ‘EMERALD CITY’ TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL

In the end of March representatives of Coca Cola Beverages Ukraine and civil society organization Osvitoria visited their children in ward – pupils of the social rehabilitation center Emerald City in Sviatogorsk, Donetsk oblast, within the educational project iLearn. Coca Coal and Osvitoria announced the launch of  this charity project in autumn last year. ECO Press team provided information support to this important activity.

clip_image001 The project aims to help graduates in preparation for exams Standardized External Testing (SET) and determining their future profession.

At the end of last year, the program of professional orientation was presented to the graduates within the framework of the project. As a result, it helped to identify the special characteristics and strong sides of pupils and determine the direction of their future profession. Also, the motivation and self-development training workshops, and individual psychologist consultation were organized for school leavers. The future graduates received a structured information about SET, the list of higher education establishments, entrance conditions, scholarships and employee demands. Since the beginning of March of this year the graduates started intensive preparations for SET via online education project iLearn. Currently the teachers of Ukrainian and Ukrainian literature, History of Ukraine, Math and English prepare pupils by providing extra webinars.

In addition, the program «First profession» was launched, that allows teen-agers to master practical professions that will be useful in adult life.Thus, two groups «Cookery» &  «Hairdressing» began its work since the March. The pupils were provided not only with professional teachers, but with all necessary cost-based materials and equipments for effective study.

The «Emerald City» became the first kids center where Coca-Cola Beverages Ukraine and Osvitoria public association launched the educational program for socially unprotected youth.

For this year we target to engage the four more orphanages of the country to the graduates educational project.

About «Emerald City»

«Emerald City» — social rehabilitation center for orphans in Svyatogirsk. Orphans were resting and educating here on shift basis from entire Donetsk region during peacetime. Now Center become a shelter for children displaced from ATO zone. Today about 500 kids aged from 3 to 17 years old sheltered in Center from war and bombarding. Government facilitated decent housing and feeding conditions, but many questions are staying open. SHARE A PART OF YOUR HEART

“Share Part of Your Heart” was the title of the charity program aimed at generating funds to procure new medical equipment for the Centre for Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery.

It was jointly organized by the International Charitable Organization “Child’s Heart” and popular brands Ariel, Tide, Gala, Dreft, Lenor, Fairy, Mr. Proper, and Comet; a part of revenues of these P&G brands were donated to support little patients with cardiac issues.

510 thousand hryvnas, raised during the event, were spent on up-to-date computer equipment to be installed in the Scientific and Practical Centre for Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The ECO Press team provided communication support to the project at all stages of its implementation, including strategy and tactics development, healthcare relations, involvement of opinion leaders and celebrities, announcements, management of media events and ongoing media relations, development and distribution of video and web content.

The World Bank/ESMAP ESMAP The World Bank Moving Forward the Tariff Reform in Ukraine

During the period from January, 2015 through April, 2015 ECO Press provided services on the implementation of the public information campaign within the framework of the project “Moving Forward Energy Tariff Reforms”.

Trainings were organized through the local Press Clubs in each region with participation of local authorities, experts and Bank staff.

As a result, ECO Press Agency  offered, organized and implemented 6 training workshops in the regional hubs and one training for regional media in Kyiv, which involved journalists from 24 regions of Ukraine.

Journalists representing the most popular regional TV, Radio, printed press and Internet media took part in the training workshops. Also, we invited representatives of local radio companies and city/rayon newspapers from the rayon centers and small towns.Total number of participants was 278 people.

The training workshops have significantly influenced the understanding by the journalists of the need of Tariff Reform to achieve energy independence of the country, understanding of its goal, mechanisms and social protection activities for the low income populations.

Overall, the media trainings resulted in almost 273 materials and publications. including TV, radio, printed press and Internet. According to the preliminary estimates, the total audience of this coverage exceeded 14,1 million people.
